SUPER HIGH GLOSS ENAMEL

UV resistant tough and durable enamel which dries to a smooth easy to clean surface. Excellent economy in use and adhesion to primed metal, cement and wood. Superior gloss and colour retention. SUPER HIGH GLOSS ENAMEL is suitable for interior as well as exterior use.

  • Spreading Rate: 8 – 9m² / litre, depending on porosity of surface and application

SURFACE PREPARATION

New Surfaces

New mild steel and galvanized iron:
Clean surface with Top Paints’ GP Cleaner (refer to mixing ratio on data sheet). Rinse thoroughly with water until a water break-free film is achieved. Apply a minimum of two coats Top Paints’ Water-based Zinc Phosphate Primer and allow recommended drying time. Apply two coats Top Paints’ SIGNATURE SERIES HIGH GLOSS ENAMEL.

New cement plaster:
Ensure the surface is in good condition before paint is applied. Allow cement plaster to cure and dry for 28 days to avoid moisture entrapment or any paint failure. Remove plaster spatter and dust. Apply Top Paints’ Plaster Primer and allow recommended drying time. Apply two coats Top Paints’ SIGNATURE SERIES HIGH GLOSS ENAMEL.

New fibre-cement, bricks and composition boarding:
Remove dust and loose particles. Apply Top Paints’ Bonding Liquid and allow recommended drying time. Apply two coats Top Paints’ SIGNATURE SERIES HIGH GLOSS ENAMEL.

Previously Painted Surfaces

Old mild steel and galvanized iron in sound condition:
Clean surface with Top Paints’ GP Cleaner to remove any dust or grime. Rinse thoroughly with water and allow to dry. Ensure that the old coating adheres to the substrate. Apply two coats Top Paints’ SIGNATURE SERIES HIGH GLOSS ENAMEL.

Old mild steel and galvanized iron previously painted and rusted:
Sand surface to remove rust manually or mechanically. Remove any loose or flaking paint by sanding and scraping. Clean surface with Top Paints’ GP Cleaner (refer to mixing ratio on data sheet). Rinse thoroughly with water and allow to dry. Apply a minimum of two coats Top Paints’ Water-based Zinc Phosphate Primer to any exposed or rusted areas. Allow recommended drying time. Apply two coats Top Paints’ SIGNATURE SERIES HIGH GLOSS ENAMEL.

Old paint in sound condition:
Clean surface and rinse thoroughly. Ensure that the old coating adheres to the substrate. Apply two coats of Top Paints’ SIGNATURE SERIES HIGH GLOSS ENAMEL.

Powdery surface:
Sand down and remove dust. Apply Top Paints’ Bonding Liquid and allow recommended drying time before applying intermediate and final coats. Apply two coats Top Paints’ SIGNATURE SERIES HIGH GLOSS ENAMEL.

Fungal growth:
Remove fungal growth by using Top Paints’ Fungal Wash. Rinse thoroughly and allow to dry.

Previously painted surface in poor condition:
Strip and treat as new work.

Gypsum Plaster:
Gypsum Plaster GYPSUM PLASTER IS NOT RECOMMENDED FOR EXTERIOR USE.

Interior: DO NOT SAND GYPSUM PLASTER. Apply Top Paints’ Plaster Primer and allow 12 hours to dry. Apply two coats Top Paints’ SIGNATURE SERIES HIGH GLOSS ENAMEL. Refer to the Top Paints’ Plaster Primer technical data sheet for further information on this product.

Filling:
Use suitable and approved filler.

1L, 5L and 20L (white, standard colours and tint bases)

Storage
Keep away from direct sunlight, heat and severe cold Keep container sealed and avoid contact with moisture

Caution
Some acrylic, water-based paints may contain ammonia. Ammonia vapours can cause yellowing of enamel paints. Do not paint simultaneously in the same area. During Winter months painting should be restricted to between 9H00 and 15H00, in Summer painting can be done between 8H00 and 16H00. Exterior surfaces – Do not paint if rain is imminent.
