Intended Usages

  • Primer for new interior and exterior cement plaster.
  • Primer for sound gypsum plaster, hardboard, gypsum boards, rhinolite, glasstone and crete stone.

  • Method: Roller and brush.
  • Thinning: Not recommended.
  • Cleaning: Remove as much of the product as possible from the application equipment before cleaning with mineral turpentine.

Application Conditions:

  • Surface Temperature between 5°C and 40°C.
  • Ambient Temperature between 5°C and 40°C.
  • Relative Humidity between 10% and 85%.
  • Ideally, apply when the temperature of the substrate is at least 2ºC above dew point and if possible away from direct sunlight.

Drying time:
Touch dry, 1 hours

Recoating time:
16 hours at 23 ºC
Note: Note: higher temperatures will accelerate the drying times (approximately halved for every 10⁰C increase) whilst lower temperatures will retard the drying times (approximately doubled for every 10⁰C decrease).

Requirements:
 One coat

Surface Preparations
Preparation: Surfaces must be sound, clean and dry (moisture content below 15%) free from loose or flaking material before painting. Sand to comply with SABS 1090 requirements. Plaster mix must have a minimum thickness of 10mm, free from soft and friable material and comply with SABS 0164-1 for strength (MPA).

Cement Plaster:

  • Apply directly.

Gypsum Plaster:

  • Apply directly.

Gypsum board, hardboard:

  • Apply directly.

Chalky paint:

  • Remove chalkiness and then apply. Conduct a masking tape adhesion test 24 hours after application to ensure that good adhesion is established before over coating.

Redecorating:

  • Not recommended for redecorating – Primer only.

Limitations
